Shri Sai Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital (SAMC) in Aligarh is the embodiment of a vision steadily transforming into a tangible reality. This institution stands as a heartfelt homage to Sri Sai Baba of Shirdi, whose profound influence inspired Sri Rakesh Gupta, the founder, to dedicate an institution to Ayurveda, India’s venerable and time-honored medical science.
The journey began in April 2002 when Om Shri Sai Shiksha Samiti was established and duly registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. In a remarkable gesture, the founder transferred his extensive herbal estate and grove, spanning over ten acres on the outskirts of Aligarh along the G.T. Road, to the Society for the purpose of establishing an Ayurvedic College.
Shri Sai Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital made history by becoming the first institution to secure permanent affiliation with Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. This affiliation allowed the college to confer degrees in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (B.A.M.S.), marking a significant milestone in its journey.
Notably, in this session and onwards, the institution proudly transitioned to being affiliated with Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University, solidifying its commitment to advancing Ayurvedic education and healthcare in the region.
